Aquarium auctions

A clearer way to explore aquarium auctions.

TankBids is being built for aquarium-specific auctions and Buy Now listings, with large photos, category filters, seller profiles and transaction-linked fish ratings.

How aquarium auctions work

A seller describes the animal, plant or product, sets a starting price and publishes shipping and arrival terms. Buyers place public ascending bids until the stated closing time. On TankBids, a bid in the final two minutes extends the close so buyers have a fair chance to respond.

Buy Now listings use a fixed price and quantity. In both formats, payment is arranged directly between buyer and seller; TankBids records the marketplace commitment but does not hold funds.

What to inspect before bidding

Read the full description and confirm whether the photo shows the exact item or is representative. Check quantity, size, sex when applicable, source, water parameters, shipping method, weather policy and the deadline for reporting an arrival issue.

For livestock, research adult size, compatibility and legal destination restrictions. A low bid is not a bargain if the species is unsuitable for your aquarium.

Built for the aquarium hobby

General auction sites mix aquarium listings with unrelated products. TankBids organizes freshwater fish, bettas, guppies, cichlids, plecos, shrimp, plants, marine livestock, koi, aquascaping materials, food and equipment into aquarium-first categories.
