Freshwater fish marketplace

Find freshwater fish with the details that matter.

From bettas and guppies to cichlids, plecos and carefully bred strains, a useful listing should help you judge both the fish and the transaction before you commit.

Read beyond the common name

Common names can cover multiple species or color forms. Look for a scientific name when possible, approximate size, sex or unsexed status, quantity, source and whether the photo is exact or representative. Research adult size and temperament independently.

Plan for shipping and quarantine

Review the seller’s shipping days, carrier, insulation or temperature plan, arrival deadline and evidence required for a claim. Prepare a cycled quarantine aquarium before shipment. Do not add newly arrived fish directly to an established community.

Check destination rules

The buyer and seller share responsibility for understanding federal, state and local restrictions. Some species are prohibited or require permits in particular destinations. A marketplace listing does not establish legality.
